Ms. McKinlay received her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the Capital University Law School, Columbus, Ohio, in 1996. While in law school, Ms. McKinlay was a Member of Order of the Curia and the Capital University Law School Law Review, and finished in the top ten percent of her graduating class. She also served as a judicial extern in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, Division of Domestic Relations. Ms. McKinlay was admitted to the practice of law in the State of Ohio in 1996 and to the United States District Court, Southern District of Ohio, in 1997.

Effective January 1, 2007, Ms. McKinlay was certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a Board Certified Specialist in Family Relations Law. In addition, Ms. McKinlay has been named by Law and Politics as an Ohio Super Lawyer “Rising Star” since 2005, a designation bestowed upon the top “up-and-coming” attorneys in Ohio.

Ms. McKinlay is a member of the American Bar Association (Family Law Section), Ohio State Bar Association (Family Law Section), and the Columbus Bar Association (Family Law Committee).

Ms. McKinlay has been a member of the firm since 1997.
