What can I do for you?
That is always my first question when speaking to a new client. After a brief initial phone call I will meet with a new client for approximately one hour to gather information, answer questions, provide my initial thoughts and explain what lies ahead. Following the necessary investigation and review, the work begins.
My goal is to get what my client is entitled to within the bounds of the law. Nothing more and nothing less. My clients need compensation (money) and medical care (money). My opponents, Ohio BWC; employers; and Social Security, want to save money. In fact they won’t pay any more money than they absolutely have to pay. My opponents are represented by well-trained attorneys and administrators. An un-represented claimant is like a sheep among wolves.
I represent only injured and disabled claimants. I do not and will not represent employers, I have been actively involved in the representation of Ohio Workers’ Compensation claimants since 1978 when I entered law school. I was in the first group of attorneys ever certified as Workers’ Compensation Specialists by the Ohio State Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Specialty Board in January 1999. I have been representing Social Security claimants since 1983. I limit my practice to these two complex areas of the law.
I personally handle all the clients of the firm. All clients deal directly with me, or my secretary, if I’m not available. My clients will not be passed from one attorney to another as with some larger firms. My practice is limited, with few exceptions, to central Ohio and therefore I will not have counsel from other firms represent my clients at hearings.
In rare cases, if your Workers’ Compensation claim should be appealed to Common Pleas Court, I will work closely with an experienced associate attorney that only handles Workers’ Compensation court appeals.
