Paul O. Scott has been assisting seriously injured persons for more than 30 years. He has litigated many wrongful death cases and is listed with the Best Lawyers in America for his work with Wrongful Death cases.

"By specializing in personal injury law, I've set a high bar for myself. My goal is to maximize economic recovery, to represent people the way I would want to be represented if I were hurt or injured, and to remember at all times the magnitude of the loss."

Certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, Paul Scott is listed in The Best Lawyers in America , and is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He was recently named to the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).

After spending a short stint in the political arena, Paul found that politics wasn't to his liking. Committed to using his strategy, debate and oratory skills for societal good and to help individuals, he discovered his calling in personal injury law. His practice focuses on brain injuries, truck crashes, railroad crossing crashes, professional negligence and wrongful death.

When asked about cases that stand out in his 30 years of practice, he remembers a young girl who was severely injured in a railroad crossing accident. The going was rough in the initial stages of the case, with multiple defendants -- including the railroad -- and some tough motions that were lost. At times he feared the client might face the "precipice of defeat" but he pressed on, and won her a seven - figure settlement that ensured her freedom and independence for the rest of her life. After the case, the girl and her mother sent a picture, which Paul still keeps on his desk, " . . . to remind myself of what we do, how we help people to have a better life, and to never give up on a case."

Crediting his wife of 30 years for their strong marriage and for bringing humor and humility to his life, Paul is the proud father of three children. Strong family ties are still a priority. Paul feels that "Being the best parent possible is like being the best lawyer; it takes time, energy, heart and requires a strong commitment."

Paul Scott graduated from Capital University Law School in Columbus in 1974. Professional associations include: Certification by the National Board of Trial Advocacy; Member, Million Dollar Advocates Forum; Listed in The Best Lawyers in America, Wrongful Death; Fellow, American College of Trial Lawyers; President, Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers, 1991 - 92; President, Franklin County Trial Lawyers Association, 1981 - 82.
